About Me
- NEOS
- Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

NEOS LOG
October, 2021
A quiet month as we transition from summer to fall. The days are cooling off and the electric mattress and blanket are on the bed again. The outdoor furniture has been cleaned and stored and the rain widow is wide open. We had a huge storm to kick it off with lots of wind and rain. They called it a 200 year storm. There is more rain in the forecast, so we are off to a good start at chipping away at drought conditions. Even more optimistic is the fact that Boreal has opened for the season.
Mid month we had the grandkids over for a craft day. Now that they are both older, we are challenging them more with difficult projects. We picked up some foamboard and helped them make headstones for Halloween. They worked on it for hours with great results. It was unusual not having Michelle with us having coffee with Pops but she is busy being a fulltime science teacher.
We enjoyed lunch at Zauchas, catching up on family and world news. We also had a couple of days with Karissa as she fought a cold, then was quarantined. She tested negative for COVID. So we are all still staying healthy.
On our way home from filling up our hydrogen car, we got rear ended on I-80. Always a hassle. Nobody hurt, minimal damage and the other driver accepted full responsibility but what a pain!!
In the middle of the huge storm, we ventured out to watch Karissa’s performance in Moana with the local theater group. Everyone did a fabulous job and it was quite entertaining. Always amazing to see the amount of talent in the area. Karissa was spot on and full of smiles. Job well done!
We took Michelle out for breakfast at Mimosa House to celebrate her new job. Now that she is an 8-5 worker, we don’t get to see much of her so we had a lot of catching up to do.
Max came over for a work day and did a fabulous job. He plowed through the projects I had set up. He trimmed the arbor grapevines, stirred then emptied the compost barrels, retrieved our wasp trap and trimmed the eucalyptus. Great help for us. What was even more amazing was that he came over on Homecoming weekend. He played with the band at the game Friday night, took his date out to dinner and to the dance on Saturday night, then worked for us on Sunday morning. One very busy teenager!
