About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

December 2022

NEOS LOG December 2022 Micki and Brian revived their annual Christmas Party. They had a 2 year hiatus with COVID but picked up right where they left off, They pulled it off with only one week to prepare after returning from a month long trip to Europe, We also got in the final soccer games with Karissa. Their last game of the season was with Gateway, where Michelle now teaches, so that was even more fun…and WSCA won! Karissa was voted the “most improved” and is looking forward to playing again next year. This seems to be a month of getting items checked off the “to do” list. Rog has a new audiogram done at Costco and got his aids tweeked. We got the Toyota in for the 50K maintenance check….and it has sat in the driveway ever since as our hydrogen station has been down for a month now. I also had a colonoscopy and hope that is the last one EVER. Max had his winter band concert and played as a jazz member and in the symphony.
Rog continues in physical therapy and is doing really well. He had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Giza’s office and made an appointment in early February to plan the left toe.
This is also the month of family gatherings. We had the Elk Grove Lloyds up for the annual lasagna dinner. The eight of us were joined by Roger’s brother, Bill and his wife and 3 kids, including Bev and her husband Ed. Ed had surgery on his back at the end of December and is recuperating nicely.
Karissa came over after minimum day at school to make truffles to give for Christmas presents. She made a batch of red velvet and a batch of peanut butter. They were delicious!!
The Blooms had their Solstice Celebration a couple of nights late so we could have Christmas Eve to relax after. That morning, we headed over to the Blooms with breakfast for a gift exchange. We headed back that evening for dinner outside. The weather was almost perfect, the soup especially tasty not to mention the hot buttered rum and yule log. Fun evening spent around a specially designed log fire thanks to Max.
On Christmas morning, we exchanged gifts at Ryan and Beth’s. Beth made a yummy breakfast and we spent some nice, relaxing time before heading home to prepare Christmas Dinner. Micki and Brian joined the 8 Lloyds for turkey and prime rib. After dinner, Beth produced her saran ball for a wild and boisterous game. What a fun family!!
I spent the last week of the year making surgery caps for my niece, Bev. The usual caps don’t fit her so she brought over about 3 yards of material and I made 17 new caps for her.
On to 2023!!!!!!
