About Me
- NEOS
- Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

June 2024
We got back from our trip to the Indy 500 in time for the graduations. Karissa graduated from Middle School into High School. The audience was limited to parents so we weren’t able to attend. Max graduated from high school on Friday morning. WSCA used the Placer County Event Center so there was room for all of us. It was a great ceremony. No long boring speeches and everyone got their time in the spotlight. After the ceremony we headed to the Bloom home to celebrate both graduations. Max finally got his Seuss book from me and Pops. We have been getting teachers and mentors to sign it for the last 15 years. I hope he enjoyed it. It did finally solve a question for Karissa. In third grade, a teacher had given her a book in a plain manila clasp envelope to give to her mom but she was not to look inside. For five years Karissa has been wondering what that could have been. When she saw Max’s book, the light dawned. Now she just has to wait 4 more years to see hers.
It took 2 full weeks to finally get the yards back in shape. Lots of weeding and trimming to be done. Aphids have taken root in the grapes so I am trying to spray daily with Irish Spring. It is helping. Even seems to be keeping the critters away
Meanwhile, Rog continues the bathroom project. By the end of June he had completed the plumbing and electric and had sheetrock ready for taping.
For Father’s Day we went to Ryan and Beth’s for steak fajitas. I made Spanish rice and an oreo ice cream pie. The Blooms got back from a trip to Lassen just in time to join us for dessert.
We took Michelle out for breakfast to celebrate her cleared teaching credential. A week later we took Max to breakfast and got caught up on his summer hiking plans. He has a full bucket list of things he wants to see before he leaves California. He quit his REI job and plans to wait until the end of his first semester to start working again.
The neighborhood had a get together the last Saturday of June. Always a fun group.
The next day we headed up the hill with Ryan and Beth for our annual birthday lunch at Jake’s. The weather was perfect, the food outstanding....not to mention the great company!!
