About Me
- NEOS
- Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

September 2016
It was a hot month so it was a lazy month. No urgent projects, just fun!! We escaped the triple digit heat by heading up to Tahoe for a few days. We got in our Jake’s fix (which is really a hula pie fix!), did some biking, and took daily walks to sit at the beach and enjoy the Lake. We drove up to Incline Village and strolled through that resort as well. We still had a few hot days when we returned, but it was much more bearable after our trip.
We did plastic shrink art with the grandkids using old vegetable containers. Interesting how some shrank and some didn’t. The kids were really creative and really took their time painting and cutting. They also had a sleepover with a capmfire and s'mores.
Midmonth, we had a date with Max. After a lunch in Old Town Folsom, we headed to Harris Center to see the Shanghai Acrobats. What a show! Two hours of unbelievable talent and costuming. A very talented troupe.
Lots of changes with our kids and their jobs. Ryan’s company has been bought by a conglomerate so he now works for HUB International instead of Tevis. Michelle has given notice at Black Vinyl and will be working for Rocklin Academy every day. She has decided to go for her bachelor degree and teaching credential. So proud of both of them!!
Rog and I added plants to the yards. We finally were able to locate the Mexican Bamboo we wanted for the front and are slowly adding plants to the back. Every visit to Home Depot we get to buy one more plant. We’ve added a few lantana, some cyclamen and Mexican heather. We also found a futon from a family living right behind the Blooms. I refastened the buttons on the mattress and cleaned it up. Fits in the office perfectly.
The playhouse is ready for decking. Sherwin Williams matched the color of the pressure wood in both a stain and a paint and I painted all of the wood surfaces. I also made some window panels for my sister Micki. Hopefully they work out well for her.
Doesn’t sound like we did much this month….but we enjoyed ourselves!! Rog has been good at making me take a daily walk and we usually go to the Galleria before 10am.. We are starting to recognize some of the other daily walkers. Rog has added Aikido to his routine on Tues and Thurs so now trains 5 days a week.
