About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

February, 2020

After a wet January, we set new records for a dry February. No rain the entire month. Drought is mentioned quite often on the news these days. But the warm dry weather gave me a chance to complete the trimming and weeding in both the front and back yards. The trees are budding and the roses are leafing out. The wisteria looks like it will have quite the crop of blossoms this year. Love it all.

Max had a birthday party for us at his place. This year he got a gift he has been saving towards for a very long time. His parents chipped in and he got his Canon camera. He was thrilled. He also got binoculars and a waterproof camera case, but he wouldn’t let go of his new camera for long. We had great hamburgers and brownie ice cream sandwiches.

For her date this month, we took Karissa to Disney on Ice down at the Golden 1 in Sacramento. We picked her up early enough to get pasta for dinner at Macaroni Grill. It was Valentine’s Day so the place was hopping but we got seats right near the chefs and enjoyed the show. We went to Disney on Ice at Arco more than 5 years ago, and noticed that this one was much more acrobatic. It was an amazing performance.

For our craft, we made raviolis with the kids. I borrowed Michelle’s pasta machine and the kids did a great job of making the dough. The machine did a crummy job of putting the filling in (it couldn’t have been us!) but we made enough for them to take home for lunch. Michelle even tried another recipe at home but I doubt the machine will get used for ravioli again. Not worth the effort.

Rog and I took care of Scout for 5 days while the Blooms did their trek to San Diego. Easy guy to look after.

We started our old habit of ice cream sundaes during our movie date. It sure feels like cheating...makes it even more fun!! And Rog continued to work on the model railroad. This month he worked on trestles and bridges. I took him one day a week for some honey-do jobs, so he probably didn’t get as much time with the trains as he would have liked.

We ended the month with a dinner at Cracker Barrel with Jer and Sue. AWe haven’t seen them in quite a long time, so had a great time catching up.
