About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

September 2020

Ryan and Beth celebrated their anniversary down near Jenner for a few days so we had Princess with us. She is a real snuggler and so easy to take care of. She is an early riser though:) The lockdown continues into its 7th month, although Placer County has been slowly opening up. Rog is back in the gym for karate, but still no close combat. Movie theaters have reopened but I am not ready for that yet. Baby steps. The grandkids came over for a craft day. We made bread bowls. Max made a huge spider and Karissa made a fat otter. The idea was to hollow out the bodies and use it for soup or dips but I’m afraid the bread was just too good so the bread got devoured as it was. While the loaves baked, I had a chance to play a game of Guesstures with them for the first time in a long time.
Our monthly date was with Max. Our options are limited but we took him to an indoor archery range. After an hour of shooting on his own, we headed over to Taylor’s in Loomis for a milkshake and then went back for an archery lesson. There were only 2 of them in the class so he got almost a private lesson. I think he picked up some good pointers.
The nights have gotten a bit chilly so I asked Rog to help me insulate the fish tank. It was no easy task, as I insisted we had to insulate under the tank as well. I emptied about half of the water out and then we used a car jack to get some pieces of wood under the 125 gallon tank. Then we slid the insulation between the boards and built up the sides. We topped it off with a removable lid.. I bought a heater and the fish are happy campers once again. We also changed the shadecloth over that area of the patio with screening so that the plants would get more sunlight.
Rog finished my new dinette table and it looks absolutely awesome. Ryan came over to help him bring it into the house….the thing weighs a ton. But he did such a nice job!! I love it.
We finished the month with a nice visit with Karissa. Michelle’s Starbucks has closed so she was transferred to the Starbucks near Sutter Roseville. She had to work Sat and Sun and Eric was on a camping trip with Max so Karissa came over for a lot of the weekend. We watched “Oddball”, played a few games of Photosynthesis and Pops helped her design her new restaurant, Silver Spoon Restaurant.
