About Me
- NEOS
- Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

NEOS LOG September 2025
Karissa and Scout spent the first weekend with us while Michelle and Eric celebrated their anniversary with a trip to the coast. Poor Scout still had his protective cone on but he managed pretty well. And Karissa was a delight. Always fun to have around.
Rog and I spent the month adjusting to the new changes.with Hospice. Not only did I have a visit from the case manager, but then the nurse, the social worker, the pastor and, by the end of the month, three times a week by the home health aid, but I even got a call from their music therapist offering to come play the harp for me. I also get a weekly call from a volunteer to see if I need any supplies. I have a compression mattress cover and a wedge on the bed, an oxygen concentrator to supply oxygen, and a nebulizer for breathing treatments. Rog has brought out my motorized scooter to make it easier to get around. So the place is getting a little cluttered. But I am impressed that the nurse seems to know what I will need before I need it and has it there, waiting for me. That really makes it easier for Rog…I’m not the greatest patient in asking for help:( Hospice ordered a new oxygen concentrator for me to provide more power. They came in and set it up and it was not only twice as loud as the smaller unit, but the cord was ½ as long. So it would have to be in the room with me and I would have to drag it around to be able to use it during the day and then at night. I declined. As long as I am still somewhat mobile, I will make do I’m also getting weekly visits from my best buddy, Bobbi as well as family members. And Rog has surreptitiously been contacting old friends and I get emails and phone calls sporadically. So nice to be able to have the time to get everything in order.
My brother and his wife sent what we call a box of smiles". When you open it, it floods the room with bubbles and you can't help but smile. Everyone who comes in has to try it. It has received a bunch of smiles.
Karissa does the tango in her new musical so Pops and she did a lttle dance rehearsal....
Meanwhile, Rog has been on a crash course to take over my duties. Besides teaching him the banking and financial record keeping, he is doing all of the housework, laundry and cooking. It kills me watching him do it all, but I do assist by coaching from my recliner. We look forward to our evenings when I join him on his oversized recliner and we can snuggle, celebrating one moe day.
And finally, we hired a gardener who will come weekly to take care of the yard. I did catch Rog out there yesterday pulling weeds for me. What a guy!!!
So still no pain to speak of, just weakness and general discomfort. I feel quite lucky.
