About Me
- NEOS
- Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

January 2022
After a very wet and dreary December, January was bone dry. With nice sunny days in the 60’s, I was able to get the entire yard trimmed and cleaned. There were plenty of leaves hiding under the plants and shrubs but they are all cleaned up now. Rog helped me build my strawberry towers. We made them out of PVC tubes and they are hug up and ready for plants. Green Acres says the plants don’t come in until March, so we are prepared!
The Blooms came back from their Virginia trip, having experienced a huge snowstorm that necessitated a move from their lovely farmhouse to a motel room that had power and water. But they enjoyed their trip and the kids got to make a few snowmen. We will miss Scout.
Dick and Judy Byce were down from the Seattle area for a few weeks so we had them come for lunch. Dick and Rog have been friends since elementary school and are still great friends. Lots of good conversation.
Rog went back to Mercy General to have his implant checked. Both the LINQ and CPAP are working well. We both made a visit to our friendly neighborhood dentist and had labwork done. I finished the month off with a mammogram so I think we are done in the medical department for a while.
Kniesels finally got us in for our bodywork repair. All fixed now. Rog and I spent a day assembling the RV cover we bought last month. Rog thought he would have to make modifications to some of the poles but it fit perfectly without an inch to spare.
Later in the month Ryan came over and helped Rog get the new air conditioner on top of the van. Rog installed the interior piece and only has a little wiring left to finish.
Karissa had a special day with us. We tried to make a pangolin with the resin 3D printer but couldn’t get the program to print. Thinking it was the pattern, she picked out a keychain to make. Still didn’t work. We did enjoy a lunch at Panda Express. That evening, I did some internet searching and discovered that the slicing program had upgraded and was no longer compatible with the printer program. I went back to the older version and we were able to print both pangolin and keychain. Success!!
Rog and I attended a Neptune Society luncheon at Primo’s. We have decided to prepay crematorium arrangements. Now we just have to decide which group to go with.
Rog also played with a railroad model…a task he found a bit daunting. We had bought the models for the grandkids to do a couple of summers ago but they never got around to it. Good thing. Even a bit challenging for Rog.
On the 30th, Max had his Eagle Court of Honor. Two hours of celebrating his accomplishment. I had my sister Laura make special cookies for the event and they turned out absolutely awesome!! Max displayed his many, many badges and patches, Michelle did a slideshow of his years of scouting, scout leaders made speeches, Max made a speech and handed out pins to us and his parents as well as gifts to his mentors, and a lot of folks made speeches about him. Finally, after a wonderful speech by Michelle, Eric presented Max with a metal eagle sculpture that he had crafted. So fun to spend an afternoon hearing others praise your grandson, So proud!!!
