About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

October 2022

Another dry month but we got the place ready for wet weather. I washed all of the outside furniture and stowed the screens and cushions. Rog and I spent a morning washing down the screens around the porch with Simple Green and then using the power washer to rinse them down. Then we washed all of the house windows inside and out. I even cleaned up the hydroponic system to get it ready for the winter crops. It was another month of medical appointments; I had a CT scan and angiogram (all turned out ok) and Rog had an EKG and CT scan for his upcoming toe cheilectomy surgery. We even got our flu shots so hopefully we are good to go for the winter. Rog finished the propane tank compartment in the van and the RV shop finally returned my calls. We have been trying to get a part for our new air conditioner. It is under warranty and the independent shop can’t get the part. So we took it to the local Camping World. Turns out they can’t fix it either. They aren’t a dealership. So we now have an appointment with the Camping World dealership in Roseville…for January. And they told me that it could be weeks before they could look at it once we took it in. Good grief.
We finally scheduled a special time with Max. No more dates, no more special days…we are resigned to having dinner out with him. Just a crazy busy guy these days. We went to Don Quixote, his favorite Mexican restaurant. Rog has turned over the reins as the dojo manager and there are two members who will share the responsibilities. He will be out of commission for a few months after surgery. Ryan joined Rog for an evening at the range for their CCW class. Rog has another successful target to hang in the garage. Quite the sharpshooter. Karissa has been looking forward to her first dance since she started school years ago…and the night finally came. I went over to do her hair in French braids and she was so excited. It was as good as she hoped and she had a great time.
Meanwhile, Max took Taylor to the Homecoming Dance.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN....
