About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

November 2014

We were able to hold off until this month to use the pellet stove and it worked like a charm. Can’t wait until we move into that room and can enjoy it in the evenings. We stocked up with five bags of pellets so we are all set for the cold weather.

Rog finished up the archway from the kitchen area into the formal dining area and we laid the tile in the breakfast nook area.

Then it was on to windows. He finished the window next to the door and then installed the six small windows. Amazing how much lighter the room is now. It made it a lot easier for the painter to see what she was doing. I stained the trim for the windows and then repainted the walls in the family room, including the new archway. We scheduled the carpet installation for December 12, figuring that the room will be completely done by then.

In addition to painting, I continue to work on the waterfall. All of the rocks are ready for final installation, which will probably take most of the winter months.

It was Max’s month for a date and we went out to lunch at Red Robin, then came back to our place to watch a movie, Dragon and the Pearl. Then we carved apple faces and hung them up to dry. We did a few Thanksgiving projects on our Monday craft days. The turkeys made out of oreos and candy were especially delicious but we also made candle holders and garlands with autumn leaves.

We had the kids over for a lasagna lunch and enjoyed spending some relaxing time with them all. It was almost warm enough to eat outside but only Michelle and I lasted…and that was only because the grandkids were outside eating in the playhouse and we wanted to be close. Rog ate inside with Beth and Ryan.

The Blooms hosted Thanksgiving and served a delicious turkey and ham with all of the fixings. They had 13 of us so it was quite a crowd, and a fabulous evening.
