About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

July 2015

Rog and I are both on Medicare now and opted to see a membership only physician group. In addition to our Medicare A and B, we have supplemental insurance. Then we pay a monthly membership fee to a physician group that allows us to see the doc whenever we need to. The group limits the number of patients that they see and they don’t bill insurance. So they aren’t dictated to by insurance companies and spend as much time as they need with their patients. We are in contact with them via email and they are holistic in their approach. Meanwhile, I have started with a Sutter cardiologist and we both went on for eye exams.

The Blooms had a yard sale and we popped in on them. I bought some bookmarks that Max had made and had for sale. It was pretty warm out. We also joined the Blooms for the Roseville Fourth of July show at the fairgrounds. Fabulous display.

Mike Sipes had a BBQ for SKA. There was a great turnout for it and fun was had by all. We even gave a little show with one of our cruising You Tubes.

This month was Max’s date and we took him to Sky Zone to play on the trampolines. We followed it up with dinner and ice cream. We only had 2 project days this month. We made Fourth of July tarts and had balloon races.

Rog continued working on the van while I made countless trips around town looking for needed items. Our goal was to leave by July 20 but we had to wait an additional day to finish up the propane on the stove. The cabinets were framed but had no drawers or doors, and the bed wasn’t done so we had air mattresses, but we were good to go!
