About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

June 2015

Now that we have decided to go back East for two family weddings in August, Rog has been feverishly working on the van. He finished the interior insulation, replaced the panels and then started in on the cabinetry.

But before we head out to the east Coast, we had a Walsh family reunion at Grant’s Pass in Oregon. We drove, following the Blooms up north with a few rest stops along the way. We weren’t allowed into the house until 4 pm and got there just about 4 but found most of the family already there and inside. All of my siblings and many of the “cousins”, including 3 of Jim’s kids and their families, Kevin and his brood, and of course the Blooms. It was a full house and we had a blast. We spend a day at Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, swimming and some went for a jet boat ride. The house worked out great and all went smoothly. On the way back down to Rocklin, we stopped for a visit at Sierra Nevada Brewery and met up with the Blooms there.

Rog and I got reacquainted with the Falkenthal side of the family, attending a picnic celebration at Paul’s. It turns out that his house is less than a mile downhill from our old Meadow Vista place on McElroy. Nice to see my cousins Bob, Jean, and Paul and their families.

Our weekly projects had us making magnet pictures for father’s Day, egg nest treats, fireflies, mice cookies, and cards for Pops as well as a Foosball game for him. For Karissa’s date, we headed out to a cupcake shop, Icing on the Cpcake, to make some specials treats. We also attended Karissa's graduation ceremony as she leaves Montessori preschool and gets ready to be a kindergartener.

Rog helped Ryan replace his front doors and I made some drapes for their living room. They have repainted the front room and it all looks so different now!

I continue to work in the back on the garden and have attended some cardiac classes. Rog made an arbor for our new grapes. Life goes on.
