About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

January 2018

Rog and I both recovered from our week of flu and started the new year by taking down all of the decorations and stowing them away until next year.
We took Max out to lunch for his date, then he and Pops went to the movies and saw Jumanji while I babysat for Karissa.

We did two craft projects this month. We made pom poms out of white yarn and then put them together to make snowmen. A week later, we used marshmallows to make Olafs on graham crackers.

We splurged and bought a new, more powerful, gas powered leaf blower. We were able to do the entire front and back in a couple of hours. Would have taken a whole day with the other blower.

With the doors for the van cupboards completed, we pulled out the floor tiles we bought at Costco months ago and replaced the van floor. We pulled out the carpet and then cut each tile piece to fit in place. Looking sharp!

Rog also started experimenting with his model railroad, laying track. Of course, they sell prefabricated track but Rog wants to lay each tile and rail. That includes staining each and every tie. This will be a long term project.

I spent most of the month working on the 2017 books for the grandkids. At the end of every year I put a book together for each of them with pictures. One of those traditions that you start and try to make better each year. Which can make things tough. But I am happy with how they turned out.
