About Me

Rog and Sue Lloyd sold their home in Meadow Vista, CA in July, 2005 and enjoyed life aboard their catamaran NEOS for eight years. They sailed the 48 foot catamaran throughout the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and on the Pacific Coast from Ecuador to Mexico. Neos was sold in July of 2013 and Rog and Sue returned to life on land. They are now settled in Rocklin, CA close to family and contemplating how they will spend their future as CLODs; cruisers living on dirt.

August 2022

August was a month of recuperation. Roger needed some time to get back into normal mode. It took about a week to catch up from the TRT hike. Then he went back to aikido a bit too early and had to nurse a sore back for 2 weeks. So lots of laying low.
But always time to party. We joined Roger’s karate group for a potluck at Goathouse Brewery and then headed over to Ryan’s for a TRT Celebration BBQ. We honored Max and Pops with London Broil and yummy sides.
Zauchas also joined us for a lunch for Bobbi’s birthday and a lot of catchup.
I had started a list of “to do chores” for Rog while he was on the trail and by the end of the month, he started ticking them off one by one. We got the van into the shop to start the process of repairing the air conditioning, ordered the fairing for the bike (the part will take a year to get but the insurance sent us a check already), finished trimming the yards, removed and cleaned the mirror behind the stove, finished the blog of the TRT trip, fixed the screen door in he patio, and planted a new rose bush. We even started planning our next major project of replacing the concrete driveway with pavers. That may not even happen this year, but we will start pricing options. We finished the month with a fun birthday celebration at the Blooms. Karissa turned 12 and the theme for the day was “in the garden”. Rog and I dressed up as scarecrows and Karissa had hot glued flowers to a t-shirt. Ryan wore a broccoli shirt and Beth had a watermelon dress. Michelle was a gardener with seed packets attached to her shirt. This year, they had us join them for brunch. Eric made cheddar cheese-bacon waffles accompanied with scrambled eggs, sausages and fruit. Fun day!!!
